Welcome to another episode of “Tailgating Food” presented by TAILGREETER!
Tailgating is a unique experience like no other, differentiated by what city you are from, what part of the country you live in, what nationality you are, etc.
One of the more prideful factors separating one tailgate from another is….FOOD!
Tailgates are known as one of the best places to experience food! From recipes passed down from generation to generation, to concoctions created solely for tailgaters, food has become a staple of every good tailgate.
I wanted to give a shout out to a few tailgating dishes, because it can be a deciding factor for hosts to attract guests, as well as for guests when they are searching for tailgates on tailgreeter.com!
So be on the lookout for an entire series I’ll be doing called “Tailgating Food” presented by TAILGREETER!
The series continues with…. drum roll please….
Episode 3: SALSA!
Salsas are a type of dip, but are special in their own way.
They can be simple and yet highly customizable, so I wanted to focus an episode around this worthy tailgate dish!
Salsas are light and fresh on the palate, and usually comes with tortilla chips. Seriously, who doesn’t like chips?
You can also use salsa to spice up other dishes like: eggs, tacos, fajitas, stews, roasted chicken, even as a topping for enchiladas or quesadillas! Salsa has become a fan favorite around the globe, and truly one of the most versatile tailgate dishes available.
Today, I’m giving you three salsa recipes, each with a different flare. Salsas are usually relatively easy to prepare, and super delicious!
Some of the basic ingredients that are common in salsa include:
Tomatoes (or tomatillos)
Onions
Garlic
Cilantro
Lime juice
Salt
Pepper
However, the fun starts after the basic ingredients are mixed together. At this point, you can add so many different ingredients to make it your own.
Some other fun ingredients you can include:
Jalapenos/Serrano peppers (spicy!)
Corn
Black beans
Mangos
Avocado
Have a look at the recipes below, and make sure to include a salsa at your next TAILGREETER tailgate. I can pretty much guarantee you that a tailgate with salsa has a leg up on a tailgate without salsa.
Don't forget, if you don’t like spicy ingredients, don’t include them!
Have fun and be creative!
